December Already?!

November rushed by...does anyone remember it? But now it is the mid point of December and I am determined to not let it pass me by as quickly as November :) A few things I have already "forgotten" in December:

1.) I registered to run the Austin Marathon (yes, the complete 26 miles). How could you possibly forget this, you ask? Well....in the midst of Thanksgiving, projects and Christmas shopping training has been a tad on the minimal side.

2.) Christmas present shopping. I LOVE shopping for others. I especially love when I have saved enough (from the last Christmas) to be able to buy people things I think they need/will enjoy. I am almost completely finished with my shopping and have only purchased one thing online (probably 3 when total). Yay!

3.) Decorating my apartment. I love walking in to a warm/clean apartment with the twinkling lights and presents under that tree!! I even put presents under the tree as I get them just simply because it makes the tree look complete. (Yes, I still have a 3ft. tall tree that is covered by large presents...it's all in where you place them) :)

4.) Festivities! Every year San Marcos has Sights and Sounds (a Christmas fair). Chance and I have gone for 3 years now (wow) and I think this is the first year we "perfected" our trip. Year one we decided to make it a "dinner and date" so we ate prior to the event. Bad idea, they have TONS of food! Year two we only got to go an hour towards the end of the evening and things were shutting down (and I didn't buy any wassle). However, this year we ate at the fair (I enjoyed a boudin sandwich by a very authentic cajun traveling restaurant...mmmm daddy, I'll be home soon!) We watched a little show on stage, walked through the craft tent and live nativity scene. Very fun time!! (My roomie, Nicki joined us too!!)

5.) The trek home. This year I'll be heading back Saturday and staying for three full weeks. This time always flies by and I wish I could stay longer. Maybe this year I'll get to soak it up a little more. It's the first year I'll be returning to San Marcos a couple of weeks early to work. I'm a little sad about this...no worries mom I'm not growing up, I promise I still need y'all :) just hate for MT to be here all by her lonesome for two whole weeks! Ahh....bummer

Of course there are several things December holds that we all remember:

1.) Christ's birth (What a true blessing)

2.) Time with family (Yay for sissy coming in from California!)

3.) Tasty treats (good thing i'll be running 13 miles Friday before I head in)

4.) Presents!! (yeah, yeah, I said it lol)

5.) Making it home to a warm fire lit and the Christmas tree aglow :)

Merry Christmas to all!!
