Yesterday evening Chance & I enjoyed dinner with two of our friends who just got married & moved this way! They had an adorable nature trail in their complex & it was SO fun feeding the squirrels, ducks, turtles & fish! We even had a cute birdie that wanted to join in on the fun.
We loved seeing our friends & their new space!

Summer Essentials follow up
I am SO in love with Polyvore, it's my perfect mix for blogging and magazines!
The previous post on Summer Essentials is inspired by my quest to daily protect my skin. Did you know even if you don't step outside one time in a day you are still exposed to sun rays through your windows?
Protecting your skin doesn't have to sacrifice style. Grab a floppy hat on your way to the beach, make a habit of applying a shot glass full of sunscreen on your body every morning paying special attention to exposed areas (FACE, neck, ears, and believe it or not your hands). Dermatologist have reported knowing someone's habits of sunscreen as they age by looking at their hands to see if they wore it there. Just rub the excess in front & back instead of washing it off. Don't forget to reapply sunscreen if you are going to be in increased sun exposure for the day at a picnic or the beach!
Another great habit is sunshades. Not all fashion shades are UVA/UVB protected, make sure to check before purchasing & please, please don't spend more that $15 for sunglasses that you'll break or lose before the end of summer! Here are some cheap picks Here and Here I think both have some sort of UV protection.
We work year round to prevent dry skin, wrinkles, dark pigmentation under the eyes, etc. don't forget when you're spending more time outside in the summer you may just be negating all of that hard work & that means $ wasted on products.
Happy Summer, share your favorite summer secrets to prevent skin damage!

Busy As a Bee
This week has been something else! I have actually had things to do almost every day, yay!
I got to babysit all day Tuesday for our old BSM director & his wife's 19th anniversary. Love their kiddos and spending time with them.
Wednesday I picked up my sweet sister from the airport! We got to hang Wednesday night and Thursday we of course had to get mani-pedi's! She left Thursday to make her stops in Texas, busy gal!
Today I applied for some more positions, gotta be getting close to 250 now. Really praying something works out soon. The ones today were all closer to our house, which would be SO nice!
Now, I am preparing to pick the color in which I'll repaint my dresser for the kitchen. I am so excited to post pictures of the finished product, hopefully that will get done tomorrow.
Next Post is about suncare and ways to protect your skin in a stylish fashion, stay tuned!

Putt-Putt & Shopping
Sounds like the best day ever right? It was! Chance and I had a date day Saturday that was so refreshing to intentionally spend the entire day together and be focused on every word. It's funny how pre-occupied we can be with tv, work, etc. during the week. Even though we both like to think every day is date day right now!
Chance did win the mini-golf game but I was close and made a heck of a come back in the end! Oh and the shopping was Chance's idea, he had gift cards from his birthday;)

Have Your Cake...
Today's photoaday was "you" and I realized that after my makeup wasn't fresh & I had horrible hair. Now, this may have been the best time to take a pic. of the "real" me but I decided against it:)
Instead heres a fun pic. of the cake I made today for a friends birthday 🎂.
My sister gave me some really cool spatulas for icing cakes & such for Christmas. I've used them for several things but not really icing a round cake (which is the most fun:) so I did today & it was SO cool!! Love when things look pretty!

Wknd. Luv
This weekend has been a fun, fabulous time full of different adventures. Mainly lots of gift planning. I LOVE giving gifts, one of the main reasons I want a job is so we can budget for PRESENTS!!! While I enjoy receiving gifts, the whole it's better to give than receive bit as a kid really must've sunk in because I love searching for the perfect find for people. One perk to having this personality and being married means you inherit an entire new group of folks to gift (which has been a little lame due to lack of jobs...but they all know we're poor right?:)! So this weekend has consisted of lots of Mother's day thoughts and purchases, my big bros bday, Chan's bday & drum roll please....our ANNIVERSARY!!
I've been looking online and found this: Anniversary by Year & Theme I had heard there were certain things to each year and wondered if people still do this? I also noticed this one stops at 11 years...so do you celebrate up until then and then save for the 20th or what's the deal?
Thought it was interesting so I'm working on a "Paper" gift for C...lots of ideas running through the brain, can't wait to see what I come up with. I do have the upper hand because 4 days before is his bday so if I bomb that I have a few days to recover with anniversary ideas:)
Otherwise this weekend has consisted of Adam being here so him and C have checked out the golf course, we all went to a BBQ @ our friend Lance's, watched movies, played video games and they are now enjoying a Rangers game! Love living in a place with loads to do, never a dull moment with company!
This morning we went back to The Paradox church in Fort Worth. We are really enjoying the sermon and worship there. We will continue to pray through where we're supposed to be and serve, but so far it has left us with encouraging words of truth and we really are thankful!
Okay it's already the bottom of the 1st inning, gotta run Josh Hamilton's up to bat!! Happy present planning, weekend reminiscing & Rangers watching!
