Dear God,
Thank you for children!
This was my prayer all week long. I could not get over the happiness they brought to me day in and day out this semester but especially as we prepared to say our "Good-Byes" this week.
Today was my official last day @ the Elementary school I have been at for two semesters. In all reality I may never see the children again but what have I left with them. Have I impacted them to change the world? Have I encouraged them to take risks while learning? Have I helped them to develop work ethic that they can carry to 5th grade with them? All of these are questions I hope to address while I prepare to be a teacher.
One student's good-bye letter said,
"Dear Ms. Baker,
Thank you for working with us this semester, you are different..."
There little comments can make my day. Including the letter that read:
"Dear Ms. America I mean Ms. Baker" Ha! Boy she really knew how to get some bonus points ;) Overall this semester has been great. I feel more confident to teach higher grade levels (up to 6th) and have been reassured about this throughout the semester when I visit my Pre-K class from last year.
These next few months hold so much growth before being a fully certified teacher and I pray that I will be "different" so that students know how much I love them and want to invest in their lives. Praise the Lord for children!!
