Pencil, check!...

Lord let me be a teacher of knowledge who will guide our youth and grant them the necessary understanding.
(this saying was on the beautiful bracelet K-K gave me for my bday)

Today was my first day in my Elementary block! I will get to be in a local Elementary school two days out of the week for this Fall semester! I am so excited to see how God uses me with my classmates, professors and most of all to love the children.

I got off to a great start, at 5:45 a.m. I rolled out of bed (not as tired as I presumed) to make breakfast for the gals (roommates). We each got to have delicious piggies in a blanket...poor piggie! I then was able to take my time preparing for the morning. K-K and Katie were off to catch the bus bright and early @ 7:00 and I had 30 more min. to run around like a chicken with my head cut off (sorry for all of the dead animals mentioned in this routine). I was off to the school at 7:30 and precisely on time arriving at 7:50 to my school! Poor Nicki (other roommate) unfortunately was the only one around when I was heading out so she had to do my "first day of school" photo op!

Adorned with my Texas State name tag, super cute heels (which won't be worn to school again) and the most important school supply of all... my "pencil" skirt, I strutted into the school with style. So long "Dorothy" attire (this was C's compliment about what my shoes looked like) ...I'll try not to forget you for future endeavors! Mom, you'll be proud to know I spent my time yesterday evening ironing that white blouse you see...who knew "mother's actually do know best!" ;)

If you click on the pictures you can see a better view of my fab./Dorothy shoes! You'll just have to use the "back" button to get back to my blog!

(For all you movie junkies who can't wait to see my posting on Treasure Planet, number 9 on my list, stay calm, I'll be back and bored soon enough!)

  5. I, of course, LOVE the shoes! But, I knew when I saw them on FB you wouldn't be wearing them for the 2nd day of school! LOL

Can't wait to hear all about your fun!

  6. Thanks Aunt Camelia, means a lot!

Chelle-Are you kidding me, we only went until noon today and I was excited to get them off. Plus, they aren't really "allowed" since we'll be moving around so much with the kids (it's a good thing, gives me a reason not to feel so upset about the discomfort) lol!
